Windows 10 Build 17134

The dev team found a major bug in Build 17133 that had reliability issues and caused many systems to BSOD and decided to hold off on the release. The earlier detected bugs should be fixed with this new build, and it’s likely this will be the actual final version of Redstone 4 that rolls out to everyone. In a new blog post for Insiders, Dona Sarkar notes: “Today, we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17134 (RS4) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring. This build has no new features and includes the fixes from KB4100375 as well as some fixes for general reliability of the OS. As Build 17133 progressed through the rings, we discovered some reliability issues we wanted to fix. In certain cases, these reliability issues could have led to a higher percentage of (BSOD) on PCs for example. Instead of creating a Cumulative Update package to service these issues, we decided to create a new build with the fixes included.” There is speculation that the final public release of Version 1803 might be a few weeks away yet. Microsoft needs to go through some testing of this latest build with Insiders. And will need to test a cumulative update with it, too. Still, it’s for the best that the bug was caught early before the public release, as the company doesn’t need to have massive issues when the official feature update rolls out to everyone.
