Currently, Insiders have been testing the Windows 10 20H1 which is the feature update the company is rolling out next spring. It contains “a scoped set of features for select performance improvements, enterprise features, and quality enhancements,” according to the announcement.

Microsoft Releases Windows 10 19H2

This new build will be similar to a cumulative update, which the company rolls out monthly. Here is a look at what is included in the new build according to Microsoft:

Insiders will need to be in the Slow ring and on the May 2019 Update to receive 19H2 bits.19H2 will be delivered to Insiders in the Slow ring via servicing as a Cumulative Update and not full build updates. Some Insiders may not see the new features right away as we perform controlled feature rollouts (CFRs) to gain better feedback on overall build quality.Specific to CFRs, we may ship features in these updates turned off by default and turn them on independently of bits getting downloaded to Insiders’ PCs.

The company says that even though it’s being released via the Slow ring, it will “publish blog posts for each of these flights and include information on anything new and notable and any known issues that might be included.” Microsoft didn’t provide a firm release date for the official rollout. However, it did say it’s targeted for September. Microsoft’s John Cable also clarified this build in a second blog post saying: Basically, it appears the new update for this fall is a cumulative update and won’t include any new features. Instead, you can think of it as a Service Pack for Windows 10 1903 May 2019 Update.
