When first introduced, the profile icons you could choose from weren’t anything spectacular. In fact, they were quite bland as you can see in the image below. With no many titles, I often find myself looking through the lists and go down a rabbit hole of figuring out what to watch. One of the good thing though, is that if you see something you find interesting, you can add it to your Watch List. But even that can start adding up, and you could end up going through your lists and still not be sure what you want to watch....

What is Click-to-Run? Click-to-Run is a Microsoft application streaming and virtualization technology (App-V) which they acquired from a company named SoftGrid several years back. App-V allows system administrators to package an application in a virtual “bubble” and then deploy it in large quantities to their desktops. A great thing about App-V is the streaming technology allows users to begin the install and then almost immediately launch it while it’s still being streamed/installed on the desktop....

Back in August Google added collaboration to the Picasa Web Apps/Google Sites. This update was a relief to people working on photo projects and groups/families wanting to collaborate and share photos. The downside however with this (seldom used) new feature is that users were forced to use the web apps or Google Sites if they wanted to collaborate. Unfortunately, Google Sites just isn’t the most intuitive app to setup and get going....

For all of you who want to take a break from Cat and baby videos, Google recently introduced a new feature to YouTube that includes a built-in missile command game. YouTube marketing is calling it an “Easter Egg” just like many of the hidden features you can find throughout its services. To access the missile command game, view any YouTube video page and type 1980 on your keyboard. The game will show up and integrate into the video....

It would seem that a bug in the Skype Windows client was the source of the crash. To be more specific, “a cluster of support servers responsible for offline instant messaging became overloaded” and caused Skype clients to receive delayed responses from the servers. One version of the Skype Windows client (5.0.0152) couldn’t process the responses correctly, and crashed. Users running the latest version were not affected, nor were users running versions for other devices or operating systems....

Having dissatisfied customers is the last thing Skype wants right now especially with competitors like Google offering free competing voip services. Perhaps this is why Skype is offering to pay their customers back for the lack of service by offering them something in return. Pay-as-you go and prepaid customers will get 30 free minutes of calling, while all Skype subscribers will get a free week of subscription. Even if the crash is said to have been isolated and attended to, there are still service issues....
