For a couple weeks now, however, users have been reporting problems trying to download the ISO file for Windows 10 directly. Our forum tutorial which describes the process for choosing your language, edition, and architecture, no longer works on Windows 7 and later versions (Windows 8, 8.1 and 10). Honestly, it’s a surprise that Microsoft hasn’t renamed the browser to something more original like Bing for instance. Regardless, IE9 is on its way. My first concern was the slower performance speed experienced using Google and Bing maps, but this puppy is fast. I was able to zoom in on the famous Seattle Space Needle in 2 seconds flat using the IE9 test drive and Bing maps preview. The new Javascript benchmarks are in from Sunspider, and things are looking good for Microsoft so far, and they plan to get better....

Earlier in the month, Microsoft rebranded its corporate UC client from Lync to Skype for Business on the Windows platform. Although Microsoft has said we won’t see an update on Mac until end-of-year, I had assumed that meant they would give mobile users a refresh. I guess not, at least not in May. Microsoft’s claim says that the word “app” designates what Apple sells in its store, while the term “store” designates, well… a store. :) They’re even quoting Steve Jobs to support their claim.
