Last Wednesday at the annual Ira Sohn Investment Research Conference in New York, was the first blatantly pointed criticisms of Ballmer from a prominent investor. David Einhorn, CEO of Greenlight Capital, stated during a speech that it’s time to “give someone else a chance,” because “his continued presence is the biggest overhang on Microsoft’s stock.” This direct attack on Ballmer comes the day after IBM’s market value surpassed Microsoft for the first time in 15 years....
