In case you’re wondering, a recovery tool is a small isolated app that doesn’t require the Android operating system to run. Back in the Windows 98 days it could be compared to booting into DOS. From the recovery system you can create backups, flash custom OS installations (ROMS), a factory reset or wipe the entire system. It also has a few other features that help with device maintenance. I will just come out and say it. I love these Nokia prepaid Windows phones…they’re easily affordable, and while considered “entry level,” these phones do give you a lot of bang for your buck. Last year I shared my thoughts on the Nokia Lumia 520 as a Zune on Steroids, and now I upgraded to the Lumia 635 which has a more powerful processor, larger screen, and yes, it has 4G LTE connectivity in the US....
Microsoft decided that the new Kinect motion-sensing camera peripheral will be a pack-in with every Xbox One. In fact, it’s a requirement for anyone who wants to play. The camera will be a major part of gameplay and much of the UI navigation will happen through the motion sensors. That’s somewhat like Kinect does with the current Xbox 360, but will be mandatory rather than an option, at least that’s the message we’re getting from Microsoft....
When you tap the button to show more apps in the Chromecast app from Google, it gives you a list of about 12 apps. These apps are from the so-called “big players” in streaming entertainment. Disable Startup Programs This option has been around for a long time, and it works. One of the first things I do to help speed startup time, no matter what version of Windows a PC is running, is disable startup programs. The computer will start up much faster without a ton of programs trying to start at the same time, too. To do it, right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager, and then the Startup tab....
Summify was started in Romania, then moved to Vancouver a couple of years ago. It offers users the ability to organize their life better in the age of social networking. It sends users, via e-mail, mobile or web, a summary of the most relevant news from their social networking accounts. Or I should say “it delivered”, since the deal means no more new user registrations and some features removed. E-mail summaries will be kept for existing users, but the service will be shut down completely sometime in the future....
